Blood Red Road

 

Blood Red Road by Moira Young is the first book of a new dystopian series.  Saba and her family struggle for survival near a dried up lake bed.  After a massive dust storm, Saba's twin brother is taken by men on horseback.  Saba takes off across the desert to save her brother, Lugh. 

I loved this book, and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.  Saba is a strong character, but she does have her faults.  One of which is that she dislikes her younger sister and treats her terribly.  She learns valuable lessons about herself along the way.  She also begins to respect her sister more, and she tries to make amends for her earlier actions. 

End of a Series

 

 

 

 

Since I'm falling behind on my blog, I thought I'd try to combine the end of these two series into one blog.  The Eve trilogy is one of my recent favorites.  I was a little disappointed with the last chapter of Rise, and the fact that one of the main characters is almost completely absent from the final book; however, overall, I thought it was a great end to the series.  I had a hard time putting the book down.

 

Beautiful Redemption was very different from the first three books in this series.  However, I thought it was a great end to the series.  The alternating viewpoints between Ethan and Lena were also different for this series.
